சென்னை இலொயோலா கல்லூரியில் வருகிற பிப் 12-13 நாட்களில் கணியம் எனப்படும் கருத்தரங்கம் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதில் பொறியியல்/அறிவியல் கல்லூரி கணினித்துறை மாணவர்கள் தங்கள் இறுதி ஆண்டு திட்டப்பணி ஒப்படைப்பில் தமிழில் கணினி சார்ந்த ஆய்வுகளை மென்பொருட்களை உருவாக்குவது எப்படி, தமிழ்கணினி துறையின் அவசியம், தேவை, பணி வாய்ப்பு என பல்வேறு தலைப்புகளில் அறிஞர்கள் உரை நிகழ்த்த உள்ளனர்.

இக்கருத்தரங்கை கணித்தமிழ் சங்கம், தமிழ் இணைய பல்கலைக்கழகம், இலொயோலா கல்லூரி இணைந்து நடத்துகின்றன.

WORKSHOP ON TAMIL COMPUTING TECHNOLOGY
A workshop on Tamil Computing Technology will be conducted jointly by Kani Thamizh Sangam, Tamil Virtual University and Loyola College. The workshop will deliberate on the tools and interfaces available for the Tamil language Computing and will discuss about the localization of Tamil in Computer system in order to reduce the digital divide. The workshop is organized to encourage the students to take up projects in Tamil Software Development and will also indicate the job opportunities for those who are involved in Language Computing Technology especially in Tamil. Experts working in this field will demonstrate the ways of working on language computing, the problems that could arise in for Projects etc., The members of Kanithamizh Sangam will also guide in doing the Projects.

Who can Participate?
IT and Computer Science students in Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges in State, who have to take up their project work as partial fulfillment of their degree, in the academic year 2009-10 along with their project guides. Teaching Faculties are also welcomed with the same participation procedure.

Participation Fee: Rs. 300/- (includes lunch and tea). Fees has to be paid in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Kani Thamizh Sangam" payable at Chennai along with the application.

Since the number of seats are limited, students will be registered on "First Come First Served" basis. The applications along with the DD should reach on or before Feb 6, 2009.
