This is an important Vaamanakkal inscription found in Kundur near Trichy. Engineer Tiru. S. C. Bose published it in Pazhangkaasu journal edited by Prof. M. Rajasekara Thangamani (Dept. of History, Karur Arts College). Note the Vaamana Trivikrama with an umbrella of Rgvedic Brahmins (Cf. Nambuthiris of Kerala) made of pandanus leaves (thaazangkuDai), Vaamana wears a panchakaccam veshTi, holds a kamaNDalam and sports puuNuul/yagnopavitam in his chest. This paper is from 2001, subsequently more Vaamanakkal boundary stones with and without writing have been discovered.
Thanks to Sri. S. C. Bose for sending me this important find. ~N. Ganesan
